  1. Start by naming your product. Then determine its overarching goal and what measurements you’ll use to determine if the goal has been met.
  2. Next, identify your target group, or the users whose needs you’ll be meeting. Personas are a great way to describe target groups.
  3. Then, determine what you want your user to experience. Think of user journeys, product functionality, visual design, and nonfunctional properties. This is a great time to utilize Breakout Boards as you develop workflows, storyboards, sketches, and other ways to describe the big picture of your product. Set a timer to keep the discussion going.
